Over 36 years ago, Phil Clarke, owner and director of Classic Pools (New Zealand) Limited, started building swimming pools working both in Tauranga and Auckland, During this period he also travelled overseas to install kitset pools from the Pleasure Pool system, built here in Tauranga, to places like Oman and Egypt.
In 1997 Phil and his partner Lyn bought the Bay of Plenty franchise of Pleasure Pools. From 1997 to 2022 they have operated Classic Pools, a pool construction/renovation and landscaping business, with much success, building and renovating over 400 pools in the Bay of Plenty area.
When the Managing Director of Pleasure Pools decided it was time to retire in 2021 Phil and Lyn decided to purchase the Pleasure Pools factory and have it rebranded as Classic Pools (New Zealand) Limited.
The Classic Pools crew has expanded since the beginning and they can truly say they have the most experienced crew members and designers in the area. They’ve based their reputation on their relationships with their customers with reliable and consistent customer service.
Their aim for the future is to supply many different options when building a swimming pool. They start with the strongest structure of a concrete shell but now offer different internal surface options including Aqualux liners, Aquabrite and fibreglass, plastered or fully tiled.
Classic Pools doesn’t just build new construction; they also refresh (renovate) existing pools to create a more beautiful and functional space for their customers. Pool renovation can be as simple as a new finish and tile or more complicated than new construction.
A pool contractor must have a long history of experience and knowledge of swimming pool building codes, past construction procedures, and methods to blend the past with the future. They make renovations easy for customers by assuring a swift building process by certified professionals from day one.
